OK, so after the physical event at Woolbeding Common, I went to the gym on Monday evening, after work !!
it was very busy when I got there though, so I only concentrated on a CV workout (cross trainer, treadmill & bike), then walked home for my cool down.
But, on Wednesday, I had a day off work and went and played with the Army ! It was the first Army event I'd been to in a long time, but it was a lovely day, although a bit chilly and I really enjoyed it.
The area was relly nice and beautifully runnable in places and the course was pretty good too. I had a really good run, I really enjoyed it and was beginning to feel a little fitter and stronger, which is a very good thing.
I played safe on some legs, by following paths more than was possibly necessary, although from 8 to 9, I think that was by far the better route choice. I finished my 6.3kms in 60.54, or 9.4mins/k !
The Forerunner said I actually ran 7.6kms, which isn't too far off the straight line.
Hopefully the gym sesions are paying off - my target now for this year is the British Orienteering Champs in Scotland in April with the JK as a practise in March first.
