What a busy week !! Friday was Circuits again... followed by orienteering at the Hawth on Saturday. Circuits was good - hard work again, but fewer people this week. See my separate post about the Hawth summer event. I didn't ache as much after Circuits as I did last week, so hopefully something's doing some good somewhere along the line
Saturday night, we'd all been invited to a 60th birthday party ! It was the husband of a cousin of Dad's, and they were having a Caribbean style evening ! We all had to dress appropriately, ie in Caribbean or brightly coloured clothes, which was quite easy for us, as we have been out there a few times ! They had 2 marquees up with tables, chairs and a dance floor and a very large BBQ and a live band ! It was a really lovely evening, despite the torrential rain (thank goodness for the marquees). The food was good, the company good and the band were great !
I have to admit I then had a couple of rest days (Don't want to overdo things as I'm gradually building them up again do I ??) and only went to the gym on Tuesday. But I did manage 10kms on the bike - the first of the 2 I need to do for the challenge. I also did a gentle 10mins on the treadmill to keep everything moving. It felt good, but tough doing the extra distance on the bike. Three down, two to go for the Tour de France challenge though - I should actually complete this challenge, the first time ever I'll have completed a gym challenge.
Another rest day on weds (I did get my hair cut) and back to the gym tonight. It was much busier in there for some reason, maybe the threat of a lot of rain overnight drove people inside. I have to admit, I much prefer it when it's quieter. I did another 6.75kms on the bike and 1.7kms on the treadmill tonight. Only one more 10kms bike ride to complete the Tour de France challenge
Sadly, we're off to Devon next Tuesday for two days for a family funeral. The hotel we're staying in has a gym though, so hopefully I'll get to go in there whilst we're away, otherwise next week will be a pretty quiet week gym wise for me.
