Another Bank Holiday and we were at Mum's for more gardening, general diy stuff.
The plan was to wire up and fit the water feature in the garden and to refelt the shed roof. Mike got started on the water feature and CJ and I started on the shed roof. The problem was, the more we took off, the more we found was rotten underneath... What started as a refelt, ended up as a reroof. The boards were rotten adn warped underneath, so we had to get some chipboard to replace them, then when we tok the old oards off, we found the joists underneath were all bowed too...
CJ also the great idea of taking the fence panel out behind the shed, to give us better access to the back of it. This meant we could spray it at least with preservative and replace the rotten boards at the bottom. It also meant we had a bit of a problem getting the (8ft) fence panel back in...
Mark meanwhile, demolished some of the brick wall round the lawn to replace it and Mike did a great job putting the water feature in. It looked quite pretty during the day, water being pumped up and over a rotating glass ball with lights around it. At night, however, it looks Mum's having a rave in the back garden !!!
We did loads more than Mum expected us to get done. We also had time for a BBQ and to sort out various things in the house and help Mum get the organ onto ebay and decide how to get rid of various other things.
A very busy, hard work weekend !
