After dancing the night away (in high heels!) at Jennie's wedding yesterday, we were up very early this morning, for the 06.30 departure from Crawley for the Compass Sport Cup Final at Fineshade, Leicestershire.
As usual, we had booked a coach to take a number of the team there, to save us all driving, hence the very early start. It took a while to get Ben's car seat sorted and fixed in, then we were off. Some of us tried sleeping but had made the mistake of sitting near the back of the coach (away from Ben) but near all the teenagers... I thought they would be asleep at 7 am on a Sunday, but no, they were the noisiest people on the coach... Ben was the quietest.
It didn't actually take that long to get there either, even with a 20 minute stop. We arrived just before 10 am to find Neil trying to pitch the club tent, not quite on his own, but right by the finish punch... This meant I knew we'd have to run into the finish at least. Some of us had ages before our start times, so chilled out by the tent, explored the event centre and start area and watched others run into the finish.
